Dermacademy’s Tribute to Healthcare Workers Who Lost Their Lives in the Fight Against Coronavirus

For weeks now, the Coronavirus epidemic has profoundly changed our daily lives. Every day we anxiously follow updates on the number of infected individuals, recovered patients, hospitalizations and, sadly, deaths. Included in these statistics are also healthcare workers who, while carrying out their duty and remaining in daily contact with patients, are more exposed to the virus. These are hospital physicians, anesthesiologists, general practitioners, dentists, nurses, healthcare assistants, and ambulance personnel who, despite critical conditions, continue to work tirelessly for the community. According to the latest report available on the ISS website, updated on March 30, the number of infected healthcare workers had reached 8,956.
We therefore feel it is our duty to pay tribute to our colleagues who became infected and to those who, unfortunately, lost their lives. On the FNOMCeO website — the National Federation of the Orders of Physicians and Dentists — it is possible to consult the list of doctors who died because of Coronavirus (updated as of March 31).
To them and to their families, we extend our deepest respect and tribute.

We sincerely hope that their sacrifice will not have been in vain. To honor their memory, we renew our invitation to stay at home and leave only for strictly necessary reasons such as work, grocery shopping once a week, or health-related needs.
