Augmentation mammoplasty

Augmentation mammoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at increasing breast volume and improving overall body proportions. It may be indicated in cases of breast hypoplasia, post-pregnancy volume loss, weight-loss-related deflation, or when there is a desire to restore harmony between the chest and the silhouette.

The goal is to achieve a proportionate result that is consistent with the patient’s physical structure, avoiding excess and respecting anatomical balance.

The technique involves the insertion of breast implants through incisions placed in strategic locations (inframammary fold, periareolar, or axillary), depending on the patient’s anatomical characteristics and the surgical plan.

The implants may be positioned either beneath the muscle or beneath the mammary gland, according to clinical indications. The procedure is performed under anesthesia and requires a controlled recovery period with post-operative monitoring.
